What is Solid Waste?
Solid waste is household trash that in the past has gone to landfills. Two years ago there were over 200 landfills in the state of Kentucky, today there are 26 licensed landfills. By recycling, a considerable amount of the solid waste that would end up in landfills can be eliminated.
The Caldwell County recycling center is now located at 200 Eagon St. Princeton KY 42445. The recycling center currently accepts newspapers, magazines, corrugated cardboard, office paper, clear glass, tin and aluminum cans, and #1 and #2 plastic (milk jugs and drink bottles).
The county will also accept oil, for recycling, at the County Garage (945 Sandlick Rd, Princeton) on the 3rd Thursday of each month.
For questions regarding recycling, illegal dumping, or any other solid waste issues please contact Lynn Williams at 270-365-5199 or through the Judge Executive’s office at 270-365-6660.
